Zero to first profit in one evening
Your first R50 bet, every single click
This is the exact offer I did first, and it is the one I would give my own family. It costs about R3 in fees and returns about R35. If it does not work, you have lost the price of a coffee.
Before you start, in order
Set these four things up first
Do these in this order. It takes about half an hour the first time and you only ever do it once.
-
Open your exchange account
BetMatch is the exchange, and the lay side of every bet goes through it. Create the account, complete FICA with your ID and a proof of address under three months old, and deposit R250. Both sides of this guide need it, so do this first.
-
Open a free AiProfit account
This gives you the oddsmatcher, the calculator and the profit tracker. The free plan is enough for everything on this page. It is the tool that does the maths so you do not have to. Create the free account here.
-
Register with your first bookmaker
I used Lulabets for the R50 offer. Register, complete FICA before you deposit, then deposit R50. Do not place any bet yet. Some bookmakers verify in hours, some take days, and you do not want money sitting locked while you wait.
-
Open the tracker and the calculator
Bookmark both on your phone. You will use them for every single bet from here on, and the tracker is what turns this from a hobby into a record you can actually rely on.
The offer
R50 in, R50 free bet out
The terms, decoded
| Deposit required | R50 |
| Qualifying bet | R50 at 2.00 or above |
| Bonus | R50 free bet |
| Bonus type | SNR, stake not returned |
| Typical qualifying cost | R3 to R5 |
| Typical net profit | R32 to R37 |
| Exchange float needed | ~R250 |
SNR means stake not returned. If the free bet wins, you keep the winnings but not the R50 stake. That is normal for free bet tokens, and the calculator has a mode for it.
What you need on hand
- R50 in the bookmaker account
- R250 in the exchange account, as float for the lay
- Your phone or a laptop
- Both bet slips screenshotted before you confirm
The R250 is not spent. It is held to cover the lay, and it comes back when the bet settles. That is the part that confuses everyone at first.
Round one of two
Place the qualifying bet
This bet's only job is to unlock the free bet. It is designed to cost you a few rand. Do not try to make money on it.
-
Find a match with a tight spread
Open the oddsmatcher. It lists football matches with the bookmaker price next to the exchange price and ranks them by how close they are. Look for something at 96% or better. Odds between 2.00 and 3.00 are the sweet spot and they are the easiest to match.
-
Get your lay figures from the calculator
Enter the stake (R50), the back odds you found, the lay odds, and the 5% exchange commission. The calculator gives you the lay stake and the liability. Write them down. Do not work this out by hand.
-
Place the back bet at the bookmaker
R50 on the selection at the odds you priced. Check the bet slip before you confirm: right market, right selection, right stake, right odds. Then screenshot it.
-
Place the lay on the exchange immediately
Same match, same market, same selection. On BetMatch the lay column is the pink one. Enter the lay stake from the calculator, confirm the liability shown matches what you wrote down, and place it. Screenshot this slip too.
-
Wait for it to settle, then check
Whichever way it went, you have now lost or won on both sides at once. The net result should be within a few rand of the qualifying cost the calculator predicted. If your numbers do not match the calculator, stop and work out why before doing anything else.
The two slips, side by side
Real figures from a R50 qualifying bet. Back at 3.20, lay at 3.30.
The exchange holds R113.23 against the 3.30 lay. That is float, not a spend. It is released when the bet settles. The net, either way, is R3.23. That is the qualifying cost. Use the calculator for your own odds. Do not copy these numbers onto a different match.
Round two of two
Turn the free bet into real money
The qualifying bet is done and the free bet should now be sitting in your account. It usually appears within minutes of the bet settling, sometimes the next morning. This next step is where the actual profit is made.
-
Switch the calculator to free bet mode
This matters more than it sounds. A free bet is stake not returned, so the lay stake is calculated differently from round one. If you use the wrong mode, you will not be fully covered.
-
Look for higher odds this time, 5.0 or above
Counter-intuitive but true. Because the stake is not returned on a win, higher odds actually keep more of the free bet's value. At 3.0 you keep about 63%. At 5.0 or above you keep 77% to 83%. Same free bet, but R7 more in your pocket just from choosing better odds.
-
Place the free bet at the bookmaker
You must select the free bet as the stake source, usually a toggle on the bet slip or an option called something like "use free bet". Make sure R0 of your own cash is used. Check the slip says free bet before you confirm.
-
Lay it on the exchange straight away
Use the free bet mode figures. Lay the calculated stake, check the liability, confirm. Screenshot.
-
Wait for settlement, then count it
Whichever way it went, the free bet's value has now been converted into cash, split between your bookmaker balance and your exchange balance. Add both sides up and subtract the qualifying cost from round one. That is your profit.
The finished result
That extract came from a R50 offer that gave me two R25 free bets instead of one R50. Most offers are the simpler single free bet, which lands around R35 net. Either way, that is real money, in your account, withdrawable, and it took one evening.
After the first one
You have done the hard part
The first offer is the only one that feels complicated. The second one takes half the time, and by the fifth you will be doing it while watching something else.
Do two or three more small ones
R50 to R200 deposits at different bookmakers. You want your early mistakes to cost R20 rather than R2,000. This is the single best piece of advice I can give you, and I did not take it myself, which is how I know.
Start tracking properly now
Do not wait until the numbers get big. The tracker is what tells you which offers were worth doing and which ones quietly ate their own bonus in costs. Mine caught two of my own accounting errors.
Then go bigger, slowly
Once the process is muscle memory, the bigger cash bonuses make sense. That is how the numbers went from R35 to R9,311 on a single offer. Same process, bigger stakes, recycled capital.
Do this in order
Open the tools. Do the first steps. Then talk it through live.
Create the free AiProfit account and go through the first-offer onboarding. Then come to the live session with what you have seen, what you do not understand, and the questions you would rather ask than guess at. Camera off is fine. Watching first is fine.
Free. No card. Live is for the discussion after you have seen the tools, not a replacement for them.
